Episode 6: The Pet

Charlie finally comes clean to her father about just who--and what--she became following the nightclub attack when she was a model and PETA spokeswoman. Behold, the origin of THE PET!

Storyline

The world's first and only superhero has disappeared after undergoing a cataclysmic fall from grace in the eyes of the world. Middle-aged and unable to support his operations he had made a preposterous claim that the world was in danger, a notion derided by the media and the public at large.

But what if the claim is true?

Outcast writer and infamous murderess Charlie Chance, AKA The Pet, finds herself searching for the one man who was able to bring her to justice-- Captain Stone.

I just started reading this series today and already finished. I can barely wait until the next episode, when will it be released?

I think that the choice of music and sounds throughout the story compliments it so well. Additionally, the storytelling is fantastic.

I'm enjoying these so far - interesting to have a comic that uses animation and sound, too! I have to say, I find the changes in art style a bit jarring - mostly, I do find that they fit the moment (flashbacks, specific moods), but I often get a moment of "whaitaminute - the girl looked different a moment ago!" Once I remind myself to sit back and feel the mood, though, it's fine. I'm curious as to where this is going, both as a story and as a medium!

I hear you. I've experimented a lot all the way through this book, and I guess it can be a bit jarring. But I always like to push myself rather than just rest on my laurels. It's kind of scary to take chances, and sometimes you fail, but I think it's worth it for the moments that really work. There's so much stuff that just looks the same these days...

Thanks so much for the feedback! :-)

Oh, I never felt the style was inappropriate to the mood of the scene, so in that respect it worked really well. I guess we're just used to consistency within one book ;)

We are indeed! And sadly I'm rubbish at consistency! :-)

Just read through the archive, really enjoying these so far. Absolutely love the atmosphere of the work, very moody at times with some great use of music. Also, the pacing is excellent, it feels very rare to read a comic that gives itself time the breathe, to me that adds a lot to the work.

This comment means so much to me. Thank you! It's exactly what I hoped for. A slow burn with a lot of detailed world-building... Really appreciated. :-)
