rip off? THREE DOLLARS IS A RIPOFF? THREE DOLLARS FOR A ~30 PAGED COMIC?? do you realize how much work and effort is put into these comics, and how long it takes to make a script and sketch, line, and color multiple characters and detailed backgrounds? they also had to take out more time just to animate these. hell, this price is actually a reduced amount from the real life coy, which is eight dollars. and even then, that's pretty appropriate-- do you know how much it costs to make those?: inking pens probably, the ink itself and all the colors, a special kind of paper for the cover and pages; you could probably even throw in computers and printers and progams, and the cost to fix broken equpiment and how much you need to pay another company to make it. so nO yOu DonT kNoW where the hell are you that you think something like that is too much
in real life it is actually around eight dollars. so it is reduced by A LOT. you'd also have to throw in shipping fees if you order it online like Apocalyptic yeah you're unable to get them but still points are also kind of easy toget, with how much they're being given out. ("no they're not!" then go to those point groups and deviants and try or get your art (as in adoptables\your commissions that cost points) in groups so people can buy) the other ones probably don't cost as much because they are parts in a series and this is just one separate story
I have 17 points... I've made one adoptable like a month ago and no one wanted it, I have made one commision avalible only lately, I tried dAhub... It didn't give me points... I'm like the most unlucky and pessimistic pegasister you'll see... I see your point, but I just can't get any MLP comic in atleast a year if I need to wait for generous people to stop by my site and donate... Yes, it may be a reduced price if you say it is...
but a week ago u did try dAhub and it worked . . . it's good that you're trying again tho there are more groups than dAhub i recommend the groups flashgiveaways (basically wait for one of their journals and try to snag a prize (which are pretty good! like two of them are >100 points) but remember to read the rules) and detective-hq (get to actually work for your points! pretty fun because it's like detective work as hinted in the title but you sometimes need some supplies (can usually find an alternative online though or partner up) buut you could find the groups that are similar to dAhub
well did you ever try to sell an adoptable again?? i've sold adoptables before and i know that i've had my fair share of adopts that nobody wanted (my first attempt was part of that so i know how it's like to feel discouraged immediately), as every artist has. it's only normal though, you just gotta try and try again. if you don't submit your work to groups or try to get it featured somewhere though, nobody's really gonna see what you have, so spread the word of what you have! (obviously to (popular) adoptable groups lol) of course, don't just keep reposting the picture and updating it, hoping for your watchers to say something bc well that obviously isn't going to work. you could compare your adoptable to other artists who often get sales and see what they do-- but don't look at just one in particular. try several so you get a a more wider list and so that when you actually make the adoptable, it's more of an original and not just leeching off one person's flair.
Yeah I guess I'll make more adoptables... At the time I couldn't find a good base though so I made only one without a base and it was a batpony... I'll need to find a good base or learn how to draw better. And I have some art some group people have noticed and added to their groups.. I still haven't gained much more wathers or anything... Maybe that's the thing when making adoptables, I need people to see them... And if I only have 14 watchers the chance of one of them wanting it is pretty small... But I'll make more sometime. I'll just need to improve my skills first I've been using dAhub a bit now, I'll maybe find another point giving group or user too later. A month ago (I think it was month XD) I tried it and I couldn't get points I donno what the problem was with it though , because now it works :/
yo sorry for not replying in forever!! D: if you still can't find those bases, you could just search around on dA, look for groups about mlp bases (check to see if the group is popular and their watcher count is high, so you are sure that many people will see your work) or at actual adopts and their descriptions to see where the bases were from. you could look at sarahmfighter's page: many adopt makers use her bases and they're perfect for adopts! of course, you could just use normal bases (like bases not dedicated solely for adopts) as long as you check in with the artist that it's ok to make profit. you're off to a good start though- you already draw ponies pretty great! yeah, it's all about the coverage, so you got to get more people to know about you if you want to successfully sell adopts. don't actually know what goes on behind those point giving groups but maybe the owner was away for a while or had too many messages or accidentally cleared out your message? if there's another problem next time, be sure to ask and note them about it so they're aware!
Dude Calm down That's actually a really good price for an annual That's like £2.50 / $3 (or whatever the price was)
And it obviously costs THAT much because of the amount of effort put into it. Artists who find it easy will have it at a cheaper price where as artists who find this harder will have it at a higher price. Also depends on detail, amount of pages and time put into the art.
