---

As hope fades for a possible rescue from above can a buried relic from the past hold the answer to salvation?

Storyline:

The robots were a Stakhanovite creation--built in tens of thousands in Soviet Russia to assist and inspire the workers in the 1930s.

An emblem of nobility and tireless work, they yet proved inefficient, and were gradually phased out as they seized up and fell into disrepair.

Now, in a Siberian salt mine, prisoners of the state still toil, and amongst them one last robot labors-- pulling the carriages that transport the men deep under the ground, it is jokingly nicknamed The Engine.

When the old mine collapses they know nobody will rescue them, their lives have no value to the state. It is here that something remarkable happens…

I bet the comic is wonderful. But.. I found something really bothering and a lil' insulting.
I am Russian, and it makes me very sad when foreigners use Cyrillic letters for representing
absolutely other latin letters. I never actually understood why foreigners like to invert E,
thinking its a cyrillic letter, or to make it "russian" style or smth.
1) Inverted E and russian Э, they have absolutely different pronunciation and usage.
2) You used м correctly, cos it's same as m, and Б is the same as B latin.
3) "г" is "Г" the letter familiar to g, but again other pronunciation and usage.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the small "r".
4) и И is familiar to I i, not N.
5) I absolutely hate when ppl use Д д like "an A a with a fancy design"
THIS ISN'T A FANCY DESIGN GOD DAMN IT. IT A BLOODY "D"!
6) also ш Ш is SH

I understand that maybe I look to crazy, and it's ok for ppl to use Cyrillic to fool around with it.
But I'm sorry, we Russians dont do stuff like that to the latin letters.
To understand my position I suggest u ppl to imagine a russian comic with russian words partially written by latin script. It's uncomfortable to read and messes up with my head.
Cos' it's not "..Broxton written by Guy Adams"
it's "..BROXTOI SHGITTEI by Guy DDAMS". Crazy :)

I noticed the same thing! :) I'm Polish, but I learn a little Russian, because I want to travel to Russia some day and it's good to know the basics (and the alphabet of course), it looks really funny when someone uses cyrillic like this :D Mr Ddams, go learn Cyrillic! :D

привет! я согласен!
Americans have been using "Americanized" Cyrillic in comics, books, tv shows and movies for a long time (также, я американец :)). Writers and directors feel like it gives it that "extra" Russian vibe that's easily understandable for the average american (They're trying to reach as many viewers as possible so they obviously cross some lines).
To me, after studying Russian for so long I think it's pretty stupid. But to everyone else that doesnt have a connection to the russian language or culture it's just... whatever ya know?

Americans do it to other languages too. Plus, America isnt the only country that does this to other languages and cultures. Regardless, I think America does it the most lol.

ты... очень гордый русский! :)

Wow, thanks for understanding :D
I'm very surprised that you know russian, it's not so easy to learn I think..
Yes, America isn't the only country that does this.
I will tell you even more. America isn't even a country.
But U.S.A is ;D
Anyway, thanks for undestanding me. Not just dumping all sort of shiFt,
how some ppl do when I complain about their stuff. :)
Btw, I don't rly think I'm so proud to be russian, I just want ppl to know that we have culture, and to respect it. The same with all the other cultures.
